Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus
Office of the Secretary of the Navy
1000 Navy Pentagon, Room 4D652
Washington, DC 20350
USA
Dear Secretary of The Navy Mabus,
My name
is Matthew Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in
studying history. History is one of my
favorite subjects because I like to learn about the need to advance on Civil
Rights to help protect people who are different from discrimination, a strong
need to protect the environment from pollution by having environmental
protection with using renewable energy with alternative energy as an energy
source, the need to help honor people who work hard to make a difference or who
serve their country to protect us, and many others. Secretary Mabus, your work
as Governor of Mississippi with your role as Secretary of the Navy really
inspires me to be motivated to learn more history with having the confidence to
explore different ideas to learn about how to improve society. My future goal
is to use history as a tool to teach people about the need to improve society. I
consider you one of my favorite Secretary of The Navy.
When you
were Governor of Mississippi, I liked your commitment to work on improving education
by putting B.E.S.T. (Better Education for Success Tomorrow) to help fund
educational programs to help students get the resources they need to improve
learning, improve special education to help people with disabilities get an
education that they need, and help teachers get financial support they need. On your role of Secretary of the Navy, I like
your hard work on being committed to help our troops with the care they need
with helping protect their Civil Rights from being discriminated, find ways to
improve the environment from pollution, and advocating for the need for the
Navy to use renewable energy with alternative energy as an energy source to
reduce our addiction to oil with gas. I
like how you work with President Obama on creating Gulf Coast Restoration Plan
where you team up with different states including local towns, communities, and
tribunal areas work on a plan to find ways to fix the ecosystem from the BP
gulf oil spill with finding ways to improve protecting the environment. I recently listen to your speech on the
internet about making Navy carriers like aviation with military vehicles use
biofuel with finding ways to make technology more energy efficient to reduce
our addiction to oil with gas. I enjoyed
your speech because I agree with you the need to reduce our addiction to oil
with gas and to reduce pollution and that it is the time for the need to use
alternative energy including renewable energy with biofuel to help improve the
environment and reduce addiction to oil with gas.
Your work
on improving education with helping assist students with disabilities really
inspires me to work on my disability which is Autism with a learning disability
with having the confidence to be motivated to learn new subjects when I have
trouble comprehending. Also your work to help people with disabilities really
helped me get motivated to have a strong interest in history. Your work as
Secretary of the Navy on the environment issue by finding ways to fix the
ecosystem from the oil spill with advocating for renewable energy helped me get
interested in studying with being more aware about the need to protect the
environment. Also your work on having
the commitment to find ways to improve the environment with advocating for renewable
energy helped me get interested in taking a science class to learn more about
the environment with how renewable energy with alternative energy can help
reduce pollution and also it helped me get motivated to be a volunteer at Ann
Arbor Hands On Museum, a children science museum where I work with other
volunteers to teach them about science through demonstrations and even teach
them about the benefits of the environment including ways to reduce pollution.
Secretary
Mabus, I am proud of your commitment to improve education, helping support our
troops, support protecting Civil Rights to help reduce discrimination, and
having the commitment to lead the Navy to help protect the environment with
promoting renewable energy to reduce pollution. You and President Obama make a great team. You
truly inspire me to be motivated to learn more subjects and to have more
enjoyment to learn history. I wish you well on continuing your role as
Secretary of The Navy and I send my best wishes for you, the troops, and the
Navy to do well and for them to help continue helping protect our country. Also
I was wondering if you can explain to me what it is like being Secretary of the
Navy because I find Secretary of The Navy to be very interesting to me. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter
and inspiring me.
Sincerely,
Matthew B. Winick
