Mayor Buddy Dyer
Office of the Mayor
c/o
City Hall
P.O. Box 4990
Orlando, Florida 32802-4990
Dear Mayor Dryer,
My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor,
Michigan with a strong interest in studying history and public policy. In history and public policy, I like to learn
the need to advance on Civil Rights to help protect people who are different
from being discriminated, protect the environment from pollution, improve
education to help improve learning for people, and many others. The main reason I’m writing you a letter is
because I find your work as Mayor of Orlando to be very inspiring to me, share
my experience in visiting Orlando, and to send my sympathy for the Orlando tragedy.
In your current role as 32nd
Mayor of Orlando, I am very proud on how you are a strong supporter of
advancing Civil Rights to help protect minorities, women, and people with
disabilities from being discriminated in education, jobs and public places.
Also on Civil Rights, I like your commitment to be an advocate for LGBT rights
and advocate for protection for them against hate crime or discrimination. Expand
community canters to help youth get involve in activities to reduce them from
turning to crime, establish After School All Stars to help provide tutoring with
educational lessons to help youth including students get help on learning
different subjects, fund special education to help students with disabilities
get the educational resources they need to learn, and expand on volunteering
program to help youth including students learn the importance of volunteering
for the community is a common sense to improve education. On the environment, I like your commitment to
help clean up parks with water areas to help make them clean for people to
interact, support funding renewable energy sources (solar, wind, biofuel, and
energy efficient products) to help reduce addiction to oil with gas, and
improve on cleaning up trash with recycling properly to help reduce pollution
or trash from polluting different areas.
I’m also proud on how you worked with Disney, historical sites, and
other tourist areas to work together to make the environment better for people
including tourist and to help them be preserved to make them safe for the
people including making history or diversity a better place for people to
learn. Another thing that I like about your work as
Mayor is how you set up Social Media Giving Day where you worked with social
media to help encourage people to use social media to donate to different
charities to help improve society.
Mayor Dyer, I have Autism with a
learning disability. Having Autism is hard for me because I have trouble
comprehending on learning different subjects especially new thing, sometimes I
struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Your commitment to be a strong supporter of
Civil Rights and an advocate for people with disabilities’ rights really
inspires me to work hard on Autism. In March 2016, I enjoyed visiting Disney
Epcot because I enjoyed learning about different cultures ranging from America
through Asia, and Europe and enjoyed the balance between sight seeing different
culture areas, seeing different shows, and interacting with exhibits. Also on
my trip I also enjoyed visiting Madame Tussauds Wax Museum Orlando where I got
to interact with different wax figures ranging from historical figures through
celebrities, and movie characters. Your current role as Mayor of Orlando inspires
me to be interested in learning history and public policy. My future goal is to
someday to teach people about the need to improve society with understanding
the need for equal rights or work in public policy to help shape common sense
ideas to make a community a better place.
On Monday June 13th 2016,
I heard in the news about the Orlando tragedy at a gay nightclub and I
wanted to send my sympathies to you including the families who lost their own,
and the victims of the shooting. My prayers and my thoughts are for you to
continue working hard to make a great difference, for Orlando to heal after
hard times, and for the victims along with the families to recover from a tragedy .
I strongly believe that you are making
a great difference for Orlando, Florida on different issues. You have inspired me to work hard on Autism,
have an interest in visiting Orlando, and to continue my interest in history
with public policy. Again, my prayers with my thoughts are for you, Orlando,
and the victims including the families to heal and make society a better place
for everyone. Thanks for taking the time
to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference as Mayor, and
inspiring me. I hope my letter can help you be motivated to continue making a
great difference when there are challenges. I wish you well to continue your
current role as Mayor.
#StandingwithOrlando
Sincerely,
Matt Winick
