3/13/2017
Honorable Kylie Oversen
Chairwoman of the ND Democratic-NLP
c/o Democratic- NPL Headquarters
1902 E Divide Ave
Bismarck, ND   58501

Dear Honorable Oversen,

My name is Matthew Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history including public policy.  What I like to learn in these subjects is the importance of making Civil Rights stronger to reduce discrimination, protecting the environment from pollution, having criminal justice reform to reduce crime while helping people, and many others. Honorable Oversen, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as North Dakota State Representative from the 42nd district and your current role as Chairwoman of the ND Democratic-NLP to be very inspiring to me.

When you served as North Dakota State Representative from the 42nd District from 2013-2016, I was very proud on how you are a strong supporter of Civil Rights to help protect women, minorities, and people with disabilities’ from being discriminated in education and public places. Also on Civil Rights, I really liked on how you advocated for people with disabilities’ rights, express the need for women to have equal pay to protect them from being discriminated in pay,  and fund women including minorities businesses to help them compete in the economy. On women’s issues, I was amazed on how you push for funds for women’s healthcare to help assist them and work on passing laws to protect women from domestic violence.  Another thing that I really liked was on how you worked hard to help the Native American communities like pushing for funds to help their communities ranging from healthcare through education and expressing the need to protect their reservation from toxic chemicals.  Supporting renewable energy sources to help reduce addiction to oil with gas, pushing for funds to clean parks including water resources to make them safe for people to use, and implementing environmental education to help teach people about the need to protect the environment are great ways to protect the environment. I really like your approach to improve education by funding special education to help students with disabilities get educational resources that they need advocating for the need to and pushing for after school programs to help students get help on their assignments or get involve in recreation activities, and advocating for the need for lowering college and university tuition with fees at public institutions to help people who want to get a higher education afford school even though both political parties aren’t advocates for this idea.  Another thing that I liked about your role as North Dakota State Representative is how you push for job-training programs to help train workers including youth to develop job-skills to prepare them for the economy and work with both political parties to use for a law to help better train people to use automated external defibrillator.  In your role as Chairwoman of the North Dakota Democratic-NLP, I like on how you continue to support the need to make Civil Rights stronger, protect the environment from pollution, advocate for people with disabilities’ rights,  the need to help Native Americans, and many others.

Honorable Oversen, I have Autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of Civil Rights and be an advocate for people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  I’m 26 years old and I really like on how you made a great achievement to become the youngest person to become the Chairwoman of the ND Democratic-NLP and I really appreciate your commitment to help represent millennials.  Your role as former State Representative of North Dakota and your current role as Chairwoman of the North Dakota Democratic-NLP motivate me to continue my interest in learning history with public policy. My letter is a gift to you for inspiring me and for Women’s History Month to recognize women who work hard to make a great difference for society.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference in your role as State Representative in North Dakota.  I’m very proud on how you worked hard to make a great difference for society. You have inspired me to work hard on my disability, continue my interest in learning different issues, and motivate me to learn more history with public policy. Also I’m glad that you are continuing to advocate for millennials like me who need a voice in the political environment when political parties aren’t advocate for these common sense values. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, making a great difference for society, and inspiring me.  I wish you well to continue your role as chairwoman of the ND Democratic-NLP and please continue to advocate for common sense ideas.

Sincerely,

Matthew B. Winick

Dear Mr. Harper,

My name is Matt Winick and I am a fan of your work as an actor in different tv shows, as an author, and as an activist on advocating to make society better.   My favorite tv shows that you played in were CSI:NY and Covert Affairs.  In CSI NY, I enjoyed watching seasons 1-9 and also I your character Dr. Sheldon Hawkes a very interesting character.  Mr. Harper, I thought you did a great job portraying Sheldon Hawkes because I like on how you make Dr. Hawkins have a compassion for his team, helping victims on different cases, and being resourceful at analyzing different forensics to help the team solve cases.  After CSI NY ended, I got excited to hear that you were going to star in Covert Affairs tv show on USA Network.   Covert Affairs is one of my favorite shows on USA Network because I liked the plot of the show about a young CIA trainee Annie Walker works for the DPD as a field agent where she works hard on balance between being an agent and her personal life. In season 4-5, I enjoyed watching you play as Calder Michaels who becomes the new head of the DPD because I like on seeing on how Calder work hard on protecting the team while working out his conflicts between Annie and Joan.  Also in season 4-5 of Covert Affairs, I really liked on how you made Calder have an interesting role in playing or dealing with politics to get things done.

Your role in CSI NY got me to be very interested in taking an intro to criminal justice  class at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In the class I got to learn on how the court system works, Miranda Rights, law enforcement, different Supreme Court cases, and many others. Also in my class my instructor showed us some Forensic Files a tv show explaining on how forensic science works.   I enjoyed learning about how the criminal justice works,  my instructor working with me on creating ideas to reform the criminal justice system, and learning on how some forensic science plays a big part in the criminal justice system.  Besides your acting career,  I really like on how you are an activist on making society better by being an advocate to help minorities get assistance from being discriminated, sharing your story about your life experience as an African American to help other African Americans learn about the need to work hard on overcoming their struggles,  and supporting the back to school backpack campaign to help disadvantage students get the school supplies they need to get an education in school. Also I really like your work as an author and my favorite books that I read are “ and “Letters to a young brother: Manfest Your Destiny” Letter to an Incarcerated Brother: Encouragement, Hope and Healing for Inmates and Their Loves Ones.” These are my favorite books because it helped me understand what it is like for a minority to struggle in the world with poverty, being judged based on race, and how they work hard to get an education and also it does a great job emphasizing the need to help people help one another work hard to overcome an obstacles.

Mr. Harper, I’m proud to consider you one of my favorite actors because you do such a great job making your characters have an interesting role in different tv shows. Also your activism makes a great difference for society including your work as an author. I’m sending you a donation for you to use to donate to help disadvantage children get the supplies they need for schools.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard on making tv shows great, and inspiring with your work. Keep up the good work in acting.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick

Besides your acting career, I find your activism on helping fund the arts to help people with different skills ranging from artist through acting careers get the education they need and make arts come alive.  Also on your activism I like on how you advocate for helping people with disabilities. “This Time Together” was a great memoir because I enjoyed learning about how you work hard to overcome your struggles with your parents who suffered from alcoholism, being successful is staring in Once Upon a Mattress, a Broadway show, your work in comedic career in different shows including The Carol Burnett Show, and sharing fun stories about working with different stars including making friends like Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Lucille Ball, Julie Andrews.  Your book helped me get interested in studying history to learn about how different famous people work hard to make a difference in different roles and learn more about different actors or actresses playing in different movies or shows.  I have Autism  and having Autism is hard for me because I struggle with learning different subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased by other people.
