When you served as Special Prosecutor in Seattle City Attorney’s Office, I liked on how you established City of Seattle Family Violence Project to help combat against child abuses, provide treatment programs to help children who are traumatized by the abuses, and expand services to find ways to help children have a safe home.  In your role as judge in Seattle Municipal Court, I was amazed on how you created Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee to find ways to make services including treatment programs to help assist victims of domestic violence, push for tough laws on people who commit domestic violence,  and have educational awareness about the need to combat against domestic violence.  When you served as Chief Justice of Washington State Supreme Court, I am very proud on how you use your judicial role to support advancing with protecting Civil Rights to help protect women, minorities, and people with disabilities from being discriminated in education, public places, and many others.  Also on Civil Rights, I like on how you advocate for people with disabilities’ rights, express the need to protect women’s rights from being weakened, and support the idea of reducing racial profiling to help protect minorities from being discriminated by the judicial system.  Also on the Washington State Supreme Court, I liked on how you established the Access to Justice Board, Minority and Justice Commission, Gender and Justice Commission,  and Commission on Children in Foster Care to find ways to improve the judicial system on helping educate people about how the judicial system works,  push for reform to combat against discrimination for minorities including women in the judicial system, have criminal justice reform like drug treatment programs to help drug-users get the care they needs so they won’t get addicted including push for DNA testing for cases to reduce setting an innocent person to jail,  won’t and many others.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of Civil Rights, be an advocate for people with disabilities’ rights, support women’s rights, and push for criminal justice reform to make the judicial system work for the people is common sense.

Justice Madsen, I have Autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is sometimes people use bigotry or prejudice on me based on a disability.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of Civil Rights and be an advocate for people with disabilities; rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your work in the judicial system got me really interested in having an interest in learning about the criminal justice system, In Winter 2014, I took a class Intro To Criminal Justice at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI.  In Intro to Criminal Justice, I enjoyed learning about how the court system works, the procedures of law enforcement, different U.S. Supreme Court cases, different criminal justice terms, and the need for criminal justice reform.  Also your role in the judicial system and your current role as Chief Justice of Washington Supreme Court drives me to continue my interest in learning history including public policy.  My future goal is to someday work in history to help make learning of history a better tool for people to learn.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference in the judicial system including your as Justice of Washington State Supreme Court. You have inspired me to continue to work hard on my disability, take a criminal justice class, be motivated to continue my interest in learning history including public policy. Dear Ms. Rose,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan with a strong interest in watching Disney movies.  The main reason I like watching Disney movies is because I like learning how different main Disney characters have interesting traits like working hard to overcome different obstacles, Disney movies have good symbolism like friendships or other themes, how it has diversity, and many others.  Ms. Rose, I’m writing you a letter to explain how I enjoyed watching Disney Princess and The Frog, and how you inspire me.

In Princess and The Frog, I really liked a story about Tiana, who works as a waitress where she has a dream about owning her own restaurant and later meets  Prince Naveen who has been cut off from his parents where he is transformed into a frog by Dr. Facilier and  when Tiana kisses the frog who is Naveen she turns into a frog which results in both of them going on a journey to find a way to  turn back to humans where they need different creatures to help them on their quest.  In the movie I really liked on how the story took place during the Jazz era in New Orleans and I really like the songs in the movie because it did an excellent job balancing the lyrics with Jazz.  My favorite songs were Down In New Orleans, Almost There,  When We’re Humans, and Dig a Little Deeper.  Ms. Rose, I thought you did an excellent job voicing along with making Tiana have a great traits like working hard to overcome her struggles, willing to workout her differences with Naveen when they are both cursed in to frogs in order to achieve their goal , having friendships in with other people or creatures to help her.  Also I really liked on how you did an excellent job singing Almost There and many other songs because I liked on how you made the lyrics have a story along with some sense of humor.  I believe that Princess and The Frog had great symbolism like on how people from different economic class like poor and rich can have a friendship or be in a relationship, when there are obstacles or conflicts there is a need to work together in order to achieve a good goal, the importance for friendships,  and that love isn’t about money.

Ms. Rose, I have Autism with a learning disability.  Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Your role as Tiana in Disney Princess and The Frog and her great traits inspires me to work hard on my disability and to understand the need for friendships when times are hard.  Also Princess and the Frog motivated me to be interested in listening to more Jazz and playing Jazz/ Ragtime on the Bb Clarinet.  You, your role as Princess Tiana, and Princess and The Frog gave me motivation to visit Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida around January 2016.  In Magic Kingdom, I had an excellent time  riding some of the slow rides, interacting with Disney characters including Princess Tiana,  and exploring different part of Magic Kingdom.

I strongly believe that you did an excellent job making Disney Princess and The Frog a great movie.  You also did a great job portraying Tiana and making her have great traits. Ms. Rose, you have inspired me to work hard on my disability,  be interested in Jazz, and to visit Magic Kingdom.  I was wondering if you could please take the time to answer some questions.  Here is a picture of me with Princess Tiana at Magic Kingdom as a gift to you for inspiring me.  Thanks for taking the time to  read my letter, doing an excellent job making Disney Princess and The Frog a great movie, and inspiring me.  I wish you well to continue to act and do more singing.

Matt Winick
