Dear Attorney General Schneiderman,
My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor,
Michigan with a strong interest in learning history and social justice. In
these subjects, I like to learn the need to make Civil Rights stronger to
reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, and many others.
Attorney General Schneiderman, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to
explain how I find your work as current Attorney General of New York to be very
inspiring to me.
In your current role as 65th
Attorney General of New York, I’m very proud on how you are a strong supporter
of Civil Rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, combating
against people who commit hate-crime to help protect minorities including
people who are different, and investigating public places that practice
discrimination. To protect the environment, I really liked on
how you are prosecuting industries that pollute the environment including water
resources to make them safe for people to use. Your approach to criminal
justice reform like expand drug treatment programs to help drug-users get the
care they need to reduce drug addiction, push for more community services to
help non-violent offenders including non-violent juveniles get help in order to
reduce re offending, and implement more educational awareness programs to help
teach youth including people about the need to reduce bullying, gun violence,
and drug abuse. Another thing that I
like about your work as NY Attorney General is how you prosecute corrupted
public officials who accept illegal bribes or receive gifts from lobbyist, create Taxpayer Protection Unit to
investigate any companies or state contracts that abuse or commit fraud against
New York citizen’s taxpayers, and advocate for immigration reform to help
protect immigrants including refugees from being oppressed. Also I truly appreciate on how you are a
strong supporter of women’s rights to help protect them from losing healthcare
and support more programs to help victims of domestic violence or victims of
crime get help from legal along with law enforcement resources to help deal
with their trauma.
Attorney General Schneiderman, I have
autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I
have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I
struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Your continuous strong
supporter of Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights really
inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your work as current position as Attorney
General of New York gives me motivation to learn history and social justice. My future goal is to someday work in these
areas to help emphasize the need to make Civil Rights stronger, protect the
environment from pollution, and improve social justice to help protect people.
I strongly believe that you are making
a great difference for society. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to
support Civil Rights, push for criminal justice reform, and advocate for
victim’s rights. You have inspired me to work hard on my disability and to
continue to learn different subjects especially history and social justice. I
was wondering if you could please share with me what it is like being NY
Attorney General and give me some advice about working hard on my disability.
Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, making a great impact on society
including the criminal justice reform, and inspiring me. Please continue to advocate
for common sense ideas.
Sincerely,
Matt Winick
