Dear
Attorney Wilson,
My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and
I have a strong interest in studying including learning history, social
justice, and the criminal justice system. The main reasons I like these
subjects is to learn the need to advance on Civil Rights to help protect people
who are different from being discriminated, have government reform to reduce
corruption in the government, and have checks and balances to help protect
people’s civil liberties from being violated while finding ways to reduce
crime. The main reason I’m writing you a
letter is because I find your youtube ads very interesting, your blog about
ways- to understand the judicial system with how to protect your rights from
being violated, and your life story to be very inspiring to me.
I saw on CNN a report about you doing an ad for
Texas Law Hawk. I watched the ad and I thought it was funny, clever, and made
some good points about how law enforcement need a warrant to search the place
if they suspect a person. Also in the ads I liked on how there is a scenario
about how to protect your rights from being violated by law enforcement. After
watching your ads, I started reading your blog about the people’s rights, how
they shouldn’t be violated, and describing what is legal or illegal. My
favorite blog posts that you wrote are “Drinking in Public: Legal in Texas” and
“5 Things You Should Know When Police
Come To Your House.” In “5 Things You
Should Know When Police Come To Your House” I liked on how you explain about
how to protect yourself from law enforcement violating your rights by saying
that people have most protection inside your home, law enforcement needs a
warrant to enter your home, when they
do not have a warrant you don’t have to talk to them or open the door, explaining the definition of “exigent
circumstances”, and that you lose your rights if you let law enforcement in
your home. “In Drinking in Public:
legal in Texas” does a great job explaining what is legal or illegal in
drinking and does a great job of giving examples of what is illegal or legal in
drinking situations. Besides your law
career and your law ads, I really like
on how you are a strong advocate for the need to support making Civil Rights
stronger including people with disabilities’ rights to help protect minorities,
women, and people with disabilities from being discriminated, express the need to reduce racial profiling
to help protect minorities along with immigrants from being oppressed, and support the ideas of criminal justice
reform like drug treatment programs to help drug-users get the care they
need, improve victims’ or crime or
domestic violence rights to help them get help from law enforcement resources
on dealing with their trauma.
Attorney Wilson, I have autism with a learning
disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending
on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my
thoughts, and get teased. Your advocacy with support for Civil Rights including
people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my
disability. Also your blog about how to protect your civil liberties helps me
understand the importance of the need to protect people’s rights without losing
their rights and learn more about the criminal justice reform. When your story was featured on CNN I became
more interested in reading more articles about you and your Texas Law
Hawk. Your Youtube videos of Bryan
Wilson Texas Law Hawk and your work as a lawyer and your advocacy gives me
motivation to continue to learn history including social justice and even the
importance of criminal justice reform
with civil liberties.
I strongly believe that you are making a great difference
for society. Even though many law professions get critical about your approach
on law including your commercials I strongly believe that you are doing an excellent job explaining
about the laws and how people’ rights should not be violated. Also I’m very proud on how you are working
hard to advocate for Civil rights, support criminal justice reform, and finding ways to explain to people like me
about the importance of civil liberties. You have inspired me to work hard on
my disability, learn more about your work, and to continue to learn different
subjects. I was wondering if you could please give me some advice about how to
work hard on my disability and if you could please share with me how you
inspired to get interested in law on a sheet of paper. Feel free to let me know what you thought of
my letter. Here is a picture of me with a nice message as a gift to you for
inspiring me. I hope someday I can get a
chance to meet you and be part of your commercial The Texas Law Hawk. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter,
doing an excellent job on making a difference,
and inspiring me. I wish you the best to
continue to make a great impact on society and making more Bryan Wilson The
Texas Law Hawk commercial.
P.S.
I enjoy watching your commercials on Youtube.
Sincerely,
Matt
Winick
