Dear President Harrison,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history, social justice, and diversity. In these subjects or core values, I like to learn the need to make civil rights stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, have education reform to improve learning, a need for diversity to accept people who are different or come from a different background, and many others. President Harrison, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as 5th President of  California State University Northridge  to be very inspiring to me.

In your current role as 5th President of  California State University Northridge, I truly appreciate on how you support and advocate for civil rights causes by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights and expressing the need to make civil rights stronger to reduce discrimination in order to protect minorities, women, and people with disabilities.  Also to improve civil rights, I like on how you work to expand rules to combat against bully and harassment. Providing accommodations to help students with disabilities improve our learning like extra time on exams or have educational software including a recorder to improve their comprehension, expanding on tutoring services to provide students with help on their coursework or assignments from tutors, and implementing more basic, Arts, humanities, and science to make education diverse it’s common sense for education reform. Also on education reform, I like on how you support and emphasize the need for more liberal arts classes to help give students an opportunity to explore different topics or to give them an option to get a degree in that area. Hiring women, minorities, and people with disabilities to work for the college and push for programs to help educate people about different cultures are great ways to improve diversity. Another thing that I like about your work as president of California State University Northridge is how you expanded on research programs to help engage students to learn how different topics can make a difference for society and push for more scholarship programs to help low income students for students who can’t afford tuition get assistance to get into college along with supplies.  Besides your work as President of the President California State University Northridge I like on how you are an advocate for immigration reform to help immigrants including refugees from oppressive countries along with express the need to give them an opportunity in education, support programs to help educate people about how social justice is an important issue to improve communities, express support for environmental protection causes to reduce pollution, and help advocate for women’s rights to help protect them from being discriminated.

President  Harrison I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Your commitment to support and advocate for civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  On Youtube, I enjoy watching videos of you explain about the need to improve healthcare, make diversity strong, and push for education reform.  Another thing is I like seeing :12 Women Leaders of the CSU: Dianne F. Harrison Ph.D. President of CSUN” on Youtube where you heavily express the importance of diversity and how leaderships skills are important.  Also your role as 5th  President of California State University Northridge gives me some motivation to continue to learn history, social justice, and diversity. My future goal is to someday work in these areas o help emphasize the need to make civil rights stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution,  have education reform to improve learning, expand on diversity to accept people who are different or come from a different background, and many others.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference for society, diversity, and education. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to support civil rights causes, push for education reform, improve education, and advocate for social justice. You have inspire me to work hard on my disability, learn about your work, and continue to learn history, social justice, and diversity.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me.  Please continue to advocate for common sense ideas.

I wish you a Happy Holiday and I wanted to make sure that my letter gets to you before you retire in June 2020 because you truly inspire me to learn about your work, some of your principles ideas to make education including society a better place, and to work hard on my disability.
Sincerely,

Matt Winick
