c/o Office of the Attorney General
Wisconsin Department of Justice
State Capitol, Room 114

Dear
Attorney General Kaul,
My
name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor,
Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history including
social justice. In these subjects, I like to learn the need to make civil
rights stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from
pollution, have criminal justice reform to help protect people’s rights while
reduce crime, and many others. Attorney General Kaul, the main reason I’m
writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as 45th
Attorney General of Wisconsin to be very inspiring to me.
Before
you got elected to become 45th Attorney General of Wisconsin, I
liked on how you worked as a lawyer for Perkins Cole law firm where you worked
on helping minorities including people with disabilities get help when they
faced discrimination, defended on people who had their civil liberties
violated, and heavily advocated for better voter protection rights to protect
voters from losing the right to vote. In
your current role as 45th Attorney General of Wisconsin, I truly appreciate on you are a strong supporter of civil
rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, prosecuting people
who commit hate-crime to help protect minorities including people who are
different, and investigating public places that practice different forms of
discrimination or violate civil rights legislation. Supporting drug treatment programs to help
drug-users get the care they need to reduce drug-abuse, working with law enforcement to expand
resources to help victims of crime or victims of domestic violence get help on
dealing with their trauma, and expressing the need for funds to improve DNA
testing including forensic science to help solve evidence efficiently while
reduce sending an innocent person to jail is common sense for criminal justice
reform. Also on criminal justice reform,
I like on how you advocate for the need for law enforcement officers to wear
body camera to reduce police misconduct and express the need for the criminal
justice system to reduce racial profiling to help protect minorities including
immigrants from being oppressed. Another thing that I like about your work as
Attorney General of Wisconsin is how you went after industries that illegally
pollute the environment or violate environmental protection to protect public
health while reduce pollution, prosecute
public officials who are corrupt or accept illegal bribes to reduce corruption,
and investigate insurance companies including financial institutions that
commit fraud or abuse. Also I like on
how you are also working on pushing for more investigations into law enforcement
to reduce police misconduct and heavily advocate for better protection of
voter’s rights along with protecting civil liberties like the fourth amendment
to help protect people form unreasonable searches.
Attorney General Kaul, I have autism
with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have
trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I
struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Your commitment to be a
strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights
really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your role as 45th Attorney General of
Wisconsin gives me motivation to continue to learn history including social
justice. My future goal is to someday
work in these areas to help emphasize the need to make civil rights stronger to
reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, have criminal
justice reform to help protect people’s rights while reduce crime, and many
others.
I strongly believe that you are making
a great difference for society and the criminal justice system. I’m very proud
on how you are working hard to support civil rights and push for criminal
justice reform. You have inspire me to work hard on my disability and to
continue to learn history including social justice. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter,
working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. I wish you the best
to continue to make a great difference for society and criminal justice reform.
Sincerely,
Matt
Winick
