Dear Honorable Molinari,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history including social justice. In these subjects, I like to learn the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, and many others. Honorable Molinari, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work when you served as Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York 14th and 13th district and as a moderate Republican to be very inspiring to me.

When you served as Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York 14th district (1990-1993) and 13th district (1993-1997), I truly appreciate on how you were a strong supporter of civil rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, supporting funds to help women including minorities businesses compete in the economy, and expressing the need to make civil rights stronger to help protect minorities, women, and people with disabilities from being discriminated in public places including education.  On the environment, I liked on how you support funds for renewable energy resources to help reduce addiction to oil with gas, encourage businesses including industries to use energy efficient products to help reduce high energy cost while reduce pollution, and support expanding environmental protection to help protect public lands, air, and water resources from pollution.  On bipartisanship, I liked on how you worked with Democrats to support the Family and Medical Leave Act which is to require employers to provide employees with job-protection along with unpaid leave when they have to deal with a medical issue or help a family member who has a medical issue and work with Democratic U.S. Senator Joe Biden from Delaware to push for the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 to help protect women from domestic violence along with create witness protection for victims of domestic violence to get protection from abusers.  Another thing that I like about your work in congress was how you were an advocate for campaign finance reform like reducing dark money in elections including campaigns from lobbying groups to reduce corruption and express the need for immigration reform to help protect immigrants including refugees from oppressive countries. After you left public service, I truly appreciate on how you are a moderate Republican on supporting civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights, express the need for environmental protection to reduce pollution, support the need for immigration reform to help protect immigrants including refugees from oppression, and to make laws stronger to help protect women from violence.

Honorable Molinari, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, get teased, and sometimes face discrimination based on a disability.  Another thing that I worry about me having a disability is when political parties including the president elect Donald Trump are working to weaken people with disabilities’ rights Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  Your role as a former Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York 14th district including 13th district and as a moderate Republican gives me motivation to continue to learn history including social justice.  My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need to make civil rights stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, and many others.  Recently, I saw you speak at the DNC Convention 2020 on tv and I thought you really did an excellent job explaining how you worked with Joe Biden to support protecting women from domestic violence and how the GOP got too extreme.

I strongly believe that you are made a great difference when you served in Congress. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to support civil rights, protect the environment, protect women from violence, and be bipartisanship.  Also to mention I truly appreciate on how you have the courage to be a moderate Republican and speaking up against Donald Trump when they get too extreme.  You have inspire me to work hard on my disability, learn about your work, and continue to learn different subjects.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to advocate for common sense ideas and speak out against hate.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick

Dear Mr. Barry Van Dyke,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you played in was Diagnosis Murder. Diagnosis Murder was a great crime comedy show about Dr. Mark Sloan, a doctor who like to help the police department solve different cases and works with police detectives including medical staff to investigate.  Mr. Barry Van Dyke, I thought you did an excellent job portraying as police detective Steve Sloan because I liked on how you made him have different unique traits like using his detective skills to evaluate evidence along with witness statements to help his father Mark Sloan on solving different cases,  taking the time to help his father Mark Sloan when he has some challenges in life, and teaming up with other medical staff like doctor Amanda Bentley and doctor Jesse Travis to learn on how the person was murdered or if there was foul play.  I enjoyed watching all the episodes of Diagnosis Murder from season 1 through 8  because I really enjoy seeing on how Dr. Mark Sloan and his son Detective Steve Sloan would team up with their friends to solve cases when they have different methods. Also another reason I liked the show was because it had a sense of humor and how it focus on the importance of friendships along with teamwork when there are differences or conflict.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Mr. Barry Van Dyke, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Also another thing that I struggle with a disability is when I struggle to maintain friendships along with lose friends when some friends, peers of them, and adults get judgmental about me being different or having a disability.  Your and your father Dick Van Dyke’s commitment to be strong supporters of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  Your character Detective Steve Sloan and Dick Van Dyke’s role as Dr. Mark Sloan in Diagnosis Murder help give me  motivation to work on my disability, try to learn how friendships along with how teamwork is important when there are challenges, and many others.   Another thing to add is your father Dick Van Dyke’s acting in Disney Marry Poppins and in different tv shows help inspire me to be a fan of his work and work on my disability.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actor.   You do such an excellent job working with your father Dick Van Dyke to make your characters on Diagnosis Murder have great traits. Both of you have inspire me to work hard on my disability.  Also I have a letter for your father Dick Van Dyke where I explain how he truly inspires me to work hard on my disability and I was wondering if you could please  forward my letter to him and make sure that my letter gets to Mr. Van Dyke because he made a great impact on me. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, making a great difference with your father, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference.
