Dear Mr. Ito,
My name is Matt Winick, an Asian American and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you played in were Quincy M.E. Quincy M.E. was a great crime drama about Dr. Quincy who is a medical examiner for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office where he works on understanding facts about the reasons for suspicious death and use his theories to aid the police to solve a case or help a person. Mr. Ito, I thought you did an excellent job portraying as Dr. Sam Fujiyama because I liked on how you made Sam have different unique traits like willing to stick up for Quincy when their boss and the police doesn’t want to investigate the case further or aren’t convince that it was homicide, working with Quincy on evaluating evidence including tests related to the crime along with assist him on examining the body, and having a friendship with Quincy. I thought you and Mr. Jack Klugman made Sam and Quincy a great team. Also I enjoyed watching re-runs of the show because I like seeing how Quincy along with the main characters would make a difference in a person’s life or a case.
Besides your acting career, I like on how you are an activist for Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination, fund the arts to make them a better place for society, and express the need for diversity in the entertainment industry to accept people who are different or come from a different background. Mr. Ito, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Your commitment to be a strong supporter of Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Also your role as Sam on helping Quincy and having a friendship with him helps give me some motivation to understand how friendships works. Also being an Asian American with a disability is difficult when some Asians including some Asian Americans tease me or get judgmental about me being different from them. Your role as an Asian American advocate along with supporting Asian American with disabilities’ rights helps give me some confidence about being an Asian American when I struggle with a disability.
I strongly believe that you are a very talented actor. You really did an excellent job making Sam a great character with different unique traits in Quincy ME. Also I liked on how you and Mr. Jack Klugman made a great team in the show. You have inspired me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of Quincy ME, and continue to be confident about being an Asian American. Here is a small donation for you to use for charity. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, doing an excellent job acting, and inspiring me. I wish you the best for the future.
Sincerely,
Matt Winick
