Dear U.S. Attorney Scheider,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history, social justice, and criminal justice reform. In these subjects, I like to learn the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, expand on criminal justice reform to help protect people’s rights while reduce crime, and many others. U.S. Attorney Scheider, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work when you served as Member of the North Dakota Senate from the 42nd district and as current U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota to be very inspiring to me.

When you served as Member of the North Dakota Senate from the 42nd district  from 2013-2016, I truly appreciated on how you were a strong supporter of civil rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, supporting funds of women including minorities businesses to help theme compete in the economy, and working with other state legislators to expand on laws to combat against hate crimes to help protect minorities including people who are different. On the economy, I liked on how you support expanding on jobs training programs to help train youth including workers to develop or improve on their job skills to help them prepare for the economy and expressing the need to raise the minimum wage to help assist minimum wage workers afford to live. Supporting funds for renewable energy resources to reduce addiction to oil including gas, encouraging businesses including industries to use energy efficient products to reduce high energy cost while reduce pollution, and pushing for funds to help clean parks including water resources along with public lands from pollution is common sense to protect the environment. On education I like on how you supported funds to improve special education to help students with disabilities get help on their accommodations to learn and expanded more programs to provide students with help from tutors on their assignments. Another thing that I liked about your work in the North Dakota Senate is how you support expanding better funds for health care for people with autism spectrum or people with disabilities to get help on getting access to health care, pushing for ethics reform like a ban on gifts to state legislatures including staff members from lobbying groups to reduce corruption, and working to provide fund to help Native American reservations.  In your current role as U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota, I like on how you are a continuous supporter of civil rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, prosecuting people who commit hate crimes to help protect minorities including people who are different,  and investigating public places that practice different forms of discrimination or who violate civil rights legislation. Supporting drug treatment programs to help drug users get the care they need to reduce drug abuse, expanding programs to help victims of domestic violence or victims of crime get help on dealing with their trauma,  and pushing along with advocating for the need for funds to improve DNA testing including forensic science to help solve evidence along with cases efficiently while reduce sending an innocent person to jail is common sense for criminal justice reform. Also on criminal justice reform, I like on how you are working to support the need for social workers to help people with disabilities including people who struggle with mental health get help instead of strict sentencing. Another thing that I like about your work as U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota is how you prosecuted after public officials who are corrupt or accepted illegal bribes, went after industries that illegally polluted the environment or violated environmental protection laws, and take away weapons from people who have a domestic violence record.  Supporting educational awareness programs to help educate youth including people about the need to reduce bullying, gun violence, sexual assault, and drug abuse are great ways to help educate people.  

U.S. Attorney Scheider,  I  have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your role as former Member of the North Dakota Senate from the 42nd district and as current U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota helps give me motivation to continue to learn history, social justice, and criminal justice reform. My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, expand on criminal justice reform to help protect people’s rights while reduce crime, and many others. 

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference for society. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to support civil rights, protect the environment, expand on criminal justice reform, and many others. you truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, learn more about your work, and continue to learn different subjects. My letter is a gift to you for inspiring me. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to advocate and push for common sense ideas.
