Dear Mr. Carell,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you were in was The Office. The Office was a great comedy show about a group of office employees in Dundee Mifflin Paper Company where they deal with everyday work lives. Mr. Carell, you did an excellent job portraying as Michael Scott because I like on how you made him have different unique traits like having a sense of humor, being kind to his employees when they would have some differences, and working hard to improve himself when there are challenges, and many others. Also what I liked about the Office was how it would show different employees of the company talking about their perspective on the job or their life. The movies that I enjoyed seeing you in were Evan Almighty, Get Smart, and Freeheld. Evan Almighty was a great movie about Evan Baxter who becomes a Congressman where he gets a message form god to help protect the animals including public lands. In Evan Almighty I like on how you made Evan Baxter a unique character like having the motivation to do good things when politics or life gets hard or toxic, wanting to repair his relationship with his family when  he struggle with a  midlife crisis, and many others. Also what I liked about Evan Almighty is how God helps Evan Baxter understand life when life gets hard or when Evan doubts himself. Get Smart was another comedy movie about Maxwell Smart who teams up with Agent 99 to save the world. In Get Smart movie, I liked on how you made Maxwell Smart have a sense of humor, learning to work with Agent 99 on the mission when they would have some different skills or methods, and being creative at different ways in a mission. Freeheld was a great historical movie about Laurel Hester, a New Jersey police detective who has terminal cancer and is a lesbian who fights to have her pension benefits to her partner. The movie did a great job showing what it is like for someone who is a lesbian who struggles in society where people judge someone for being in a same sex relationship, dealing with the discrimination based on sexual orientation, and many others. In Freeheld, I thought you did a excellent job making Steven Goldstein a great historical  figure by making him be an advocate for people who have different sexual orientation, helping support Laurel Hester when she struggles on navigating getting help when she faces discrimination or the  the county board of chosen freeholders make it hard for Laurel Hester due to her sexual orientation.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Mr. Carell, I have autism with a learning disability.  Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is when other people including other adults get judgmental about me being different from them and have struggles to find different methods to improve myself.  Also I had done teaching time to help me learn to speak while learn how to improve my behavior, spent time in special education to help me learn different subjects in education, and many others.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your character Michael Scott in The Office tv show, Evan Baxter in Evan Almighty, Maxwell Smart in Get Smart, and Steven Goldstein in Freeheld gives me motivation to be creative to learning and work hard to improve myself when there are challenges.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actor. You do such an excellent job making your characters have different unique traits. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of your acting, and continue to find different methods to improve myself when there are challenges. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference for society.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
