Dear Ms. Rene,

My name is Matt Winick, an Asian American from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you were in was Fire Country. Fire Country is a great tv show about Bode Donovan, a young convict who joins a prison release firefighting program to help redeem himself while trying to understand life while try to reconnect with his family, former friends, and other people that he works with.  Ms. Rene, you did an excellent job portraying as  Rebecca Lee because I liked on how you made her have different unique traits like using her skills as a former attorney to help other inmates on understanding the legal system, helping give Bodie advice when he faces different challenges, assisting the other Cal Fire department including Bodie along with California Conservation Camp Program to help prevent different disasters while help people. Also what I had liked about Rebecca Lee was how she was compassionate for people that had challenges, continuing her friendship to Bode while help give Bode advice to improve himself when they would have challenges.  Fire Country does an excellent job showing what life is like for the members of the prison release firefighting program, the importance of kindness along with compassion when people have hard times or face challenges, and the need to help people when they have hard times.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Ms. Renee, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts in different settings (social and environmental), and get teased. Also with my disability I deal with people including some of my friends get judgmental about me having a disability. When I deal with these challenges, I lose motivation in myself. Your advocacy along with support for civil rights including people with disabilities’ right causes really inspire me to work hard on my disability. Also being an Asian American with a disability is difficult when some Asians including some Asian American tease me or get judgmental about not meeting their standards.   Your role as an Asian American role model on supporting Asian American with disabilities’ rights gives me some confidence about being an Asian American when I face challenges. Your character Rebecca Lee in Fire Country helps give me motivation to find different methods to improve myself when there are challenges, expand on compassion including critical thinking to help me navigate society, and work on finding good things in life when there are challenges.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actress. You do such an excellent job making Rebecca Lee a great character with different unique traits in Fire Country. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability,  be confident about being an Asian American with a disability when there are challenges, be a fan of your acting, and find different methods to improve myself when there are challenges.  I was wondering if you could please take the time to answer some of my questions. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
