Dear Ms. Parrish,
My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history, social justice, and current events. In these subjects, I like to learn the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, expand on social justice to improve communities, and many others. Ms. Parrish, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as a news reporter/anchor of Fox 35 Orlando to be very inspiring to me.
In your current role as a news reporter/anchor of Fox 35 Orlando, I like on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights causes by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights and expressing the need to make civil rights stronger to reduce discrimination in order to protect minorities including people who are different. Also I like on how you are a strong supporter of campaign to combat against bullying. Your approach in the news media like interviewing people about different topics ranging from local politics through other topics, doing hands-on approach with other people in businesses or when they are demonstrating a product to help viewers understand them, and taking the time to listen to citizens of America when they have concerns are great ways for journalism. Another thing that I like about your work in the Fox 35 Orlando is how you give tips on healthy lifestyles, reporting on public officials who are corrupt, asking public officials that hard question to hold them accountable, address the need to help people who are poor or who are homeless get the help they need, support emphasizing the need for environmental protection to reduce pollution, and many others. Also another thing to mention is I like on how you heavily advocate for the need for auditing of government agencies including non-profit organizations to make sure that money isn’t being abused or wasted when they are needed to improve services, heavily emphasize the need for better mental health services to help people who struggle with a mental health or have the illnesses, and support educational awareness about minorities communities. Also on the Good Day Orlando, I like on how you highlight different attractions around the Orlando including other parts of Florida to help educate people about traveling to the Florida area, highlight different businesses including small business, and heavily address the importance of making communities a better place. Besides your work in the news media I like on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination and heavily advocate for better mental health services to help people who struggle with a mental health.
Ms. Parrish, I have autism with a Autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. . Also with my disability I have face some challenges on understanding social cues including dealing with social anxiety and getting put down for being different by other people along with women. There are times where I feel scared about being part in society when these challenges are harder to navigate. Your advocacy along with support for civil rights including people with disabilities’ right causes really inspire me to work hard on my disability. Also I enjoy watching you give reports about different current events on Youtube, your social media platform including your website, and on the Fox 35 Orlando. Your role as a news reporter/ anchor of Fox 35 Orlando including the Good Day Orlando, and your activism gives me motivation to continue to learn history, social justice, and current events. Your work on Good Day Orlando has help me get interested in visiting Orlando including the Disney parks. At the Disney parks I like to watch different shows and interact with different Disney characters to enjoy creativity while feel confident about being social. Also your work in investigation stories including examining different issues helps give me motivation to work on expanding my compassion including continue to develop or improve on critical thinking to help understand different topics or situations. My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need to make civil rights stronger, protect the environment from pollution, the importance of expanding on social justice to improve communities, and many others.
I strongly believe that you are making a great difference in society and the news media. You really inspire me to work hard on my disability, continue to be confident about being an Asian American when I face challenges, and continue to learn history, social justice, and current events. Your work and your activism is inspiring to me and a great way to learn different things. I was wondering if you could please take the time to answer some questions and give me some advice about working hard on my disability along with how to get interested in the news media career. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference for society, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference for society and the news media.
